Discover the Wonders of Biddulph Grange Gardens

Step into the fascinating world of Victorian garden design with a free talk on Biddulph Grange Gardens—a playful, imaginative masterpiece created in the mid-1800s.

  • Date: Thursday 22 January 2026
  • Time: 2pm–3pm
  • Place: Chartwell Room, Hamilton Gardens
  • Admission: FREE
Our speaker, Ambra Burls, has been volunteering with us during her stay in Hamilton and brings a wealth of experience from her work at Biddulph Grange Gardens and other historic sites in England.
Ambra will take you on a journey through Biddulph’s extraordinary “world rooms,” each themed around different cultures and landscapes—China, Egypt, Italy, the Himalayas, and more.
Designed by visionary James Bateman and his wife Maria, these gardens combine artistry, science, and storytelling, even featuring a remarkable Geology Gallery that reflects Victorian curiosity about the natural world.
