Waikato Horticulture Society - Birds in Waikato gardens

October 2018
Thu 25th

Our meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month (February through November) starting at 7.30pm.
Meetings in 2018 will be held in a Wintec classroom which is across the car park from the Chartwell Square Room in the Hamilton Gardens complex, Cobham Drive. Access is from Gate 2 on Cobham Drive.

To help defray the speakers’ expenses, visitors will be charged $5 per meeting (students free).

John Innes, a wildlife ecologist from Landcare Research, will discuss birds we might see in our gardens. He will also speak about his Tui research.

Waikato Horticultural Society

The aims of this society are to encourage interest in plants and horticulture, to educate about gardening and horticulture and to share our love of plants. Meetings start with a brief introduction when forthcoming functions and visits are brought to the attention of members. Our guest speaker is then invited to speak. Following that, one of our more knowledgeable members discusses the plants brought along for the display table. The meeting finishes with supper, which is when our raffle is drawn. There are also plants from members’ gardens for sale.
Garden visits are arranged on an irregular basis.
