ABOUT

Permaculture

Tania Ashman from the Waikato Permaculture Collective will provide an introduction to the origins of permaculture, its ethics and principles. She will touch on food-growing at home and the market garden, encouraging biodiversity in the urban environment.

About the Waikato Horticultural Society

The aims of this society are to encourage interest in plants and horticulture, to educate about gardening and horticulture and to share our love of plants. Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month (February through November) starting at 7.30pm. Our meetings start with a brief introduction when forthcoming functions and visits are brought to the attention of members. Our guest speaker is then invited to speak. Following that, one of our more knowledgeable members discusses the plants brought along for the display table. The meeting finishes with supper, which is when our raffle is drawn. There are also plants from members’ gardens for sale.

Location

Waikato Horticultural Society meetings are held in the Wintec Horticulture Education Centre. Access is from Gate 2 on Cobham Drive.
