Waikato Horticultural Society – Fruit and Nut Trees

September 2019
Thu 26th

Fruit Tree

The meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month (February through November) starting at 7.30pm.

To assist with speakers’ expenses visitors will be charged $5 per meeting. Students are free.

Come along and hear Annette Ah Chee and Roland Stenger, NZ Tree Crops Assn. Waikato branch, who will give an illustrated presentation on the wide range of fruit and nut trees and shrubs, and talk about how you can eat home-grown fruit all year round.

Meetings start with a brief introduction about forthcoming functions and visits, then the guest speaker presents. Following that, one of our more knowledgeable members discusses the plants brought along for the display table. The meeting finishes with supper, which is when our raffle is drawn. There are also plants from members’ gardens for sale.

Meetings in 2019 will be held in a Wintec classroom which is across the car park from the Chartwell Square Room in the Hamilton Gardens complex, Cobham Drive. Access is from Gate 2 on Cobham Drive.
