Watch for the pumpkin bowling competition on the 8th March, 12.30pm in Garden Place. Rumour has it that the ongoing pumpkin growing challenge between certain members of local government and national government will reach new heights at this event.

Oh dear...
Rumour also has it that a certain politician got (stinky) manure (bound for his pumpkin plant - named Charlie (female)) on his suit on the way to an official event...

And did you hear that a certain councillor found her lawn mower man had chopped off part (the best part) of her pumpkin plant (otherwise known as Edward Cullen) -hopefully Mr Holeproof will come up trumps and that stocking bandage will do the job...

And I am told that one needs to be VERY selective as to whom one listens to when taking advice as to the pruning of pumpkin vines to get maximum size in the pumpkins themselves...

We are so lucky to have Dennis as our pumpkin judge, because that means that he cannot enter the competition with the gigantic specimens that are at The Hamilton Gardens for all to see!

Hope to see you there - with or without pumpkins. Let’s face it, a lot of us have had somewhat of a major disaster with our pumpkins in this muggy weather lately.
